Stres zawodowy a motywacja do pracy. Analiza przypadku nauczycieli i pielęgniarek

Abstract

Stres zawodowy to zjawisko często spotykane w pracy. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na wspomniane zjawisko, jak również jego negatywne skutki dla człowieka. W artykule przedstawiono pojęcie „stres w miejscu pracy”, przybliżono definicje występujące w literaturze naukowej i przedstawiono rodzaje stresu. Zwrócono również uwagę, jak duży problem społeczny stanowi to zjawisko. Artykuł odnosi się też do wpływu stresu na motywację do pracy pracownika. Przybliżono pojęcie „motywacja” i wymieniono jej rodzaje, a także ukazano wpływ stresu na poziom motywacji. W drugiej części artykułu zaprezentowano wyniki badań empirycznych wpływu stresu na poziom motywacji pielęgniarek i nauczycieli. Badania pozwoliły ujawnić różnice między stresem zawodowym pielęgniarek i nauczycieli. Potwierdzona została hipoteza, mówiąca o tym, że stres zawodowy ma istotny wpływ na poziom motywacji pracowników.

Occupational stress is a common occurrence in professional work. The aim of this article is to draw attention to the aforementioned phenomenon, as well as its negative effects on humans. The article presents the concept of “stress in the workplace”, approximates the definitions found in the scientific literature and presents the types of stress. It was also pointed out how big a social problem this phenomenon is. The article also refers to the impact of stress on employee motivation to work. The concept of motivation was approximated and its types were listed, as well as the impact of stress on the level of motivation was shown. The second part of the article presents the results of empirical research on the impact of stress on the level of motivation of nurses and teachers. The research has revealed differences between occupational stress of nurses and teachers. The hypothesis that occupational stress has a significant impact on the level of employee motivation has been confirmed.
